Grants for Education in Marine Science

MIT Sea Grant

Description:
The Grants for Education in Marine Science (GEMS) program is funded by MIT Sea Grant. Funds offered through this competitive program are aimed at providing supplemental financial resources to Massachusetts students and educators interested in marine science by promoting new, collaborative approaches to education beyond textbooks. The grant looks for projects created by teachers that teach marine science in an innovative way, and create a shared resource for the school and the community. Previous projects have made books, presentations, participate in research projects, and created their own research projects.
Additional Details:
This grant is offered annually, in the fall. The grant is for the school year, and all participants are expected to attend a symposium at the beginning of June where all the schools will present their projects. Please contact the program coordinator if you would like to participate in the grant.
