BioBuilder educates, trains, and builds a community around biological engineering and synthetic biology. It offers open-access animations that teach science and engineering through conversations between a lab scientist, Systems Sally, and an excited young learner, Device Dude. One-page comics link to a wiki with instructions to perform hands-on activities suitable for advanced high school classes, community colleges, and undergraduate programs. BioBuilder also hosts a forum for teachers to communicate with one another and for students to share the data they have collected.
The content on the website is freely available. To request reagents to run the laboratory activities in a classroom or community lab setting, follow the link on the website or email "info AT biobuilder DOT org"
